Food/Other animals: there's plenty to eat if you hunt, first, trap or collect. Every island has ample food stocks. Islands with cliffs in the center have bird nests on the cliffs. Each nest has eggs you can eat uncooked, but don't eat too many in a row (kinda like the coconuts).
You can sleep on your raft but you have to be in deep water. If you have the sleeping bag then go away from an island and anchor the raft. Drop the sleeping bag and try to save. If you cannot save then you are far enough away. Sleep and then go back to your island and save. Do that 10 days in a row and the trophy will pop. That's how I got mine.
