Aug 2017 • Family. My family and I went up to Smithville Lake for the 2017 eclipse with another family. We spent about 6 hours at their beach front and picnic areas. It was a great experience and the beach area is just big enough. Smithville Lake is home to two public swimming beaches. One is located in Camp Branch Park with the other situated in Little Platte Park.
